Olamide

In 2018, Olamide lost his mother, Ronke Osisanya Adedeji to an undisclosed illness. It was a sad moment for the rapper and his family. She was laid to rest amid tears at Ikoyi Cemetery, Lagos.

Adekunle Gold 

Singer Adekunle Gold also had his fair share of losing someone special in 2019. Sometimes around May, news broke that the singer’s dad passed on after battling a strange illness. Although, Gold did not address the loss until June when he spoke about it.

Alariwo of Africa

Veteran singer cum broadcaster, Rotimi Martins, popularly known as Alariwo of Africa lost his father to the cold hands of death in November, 2019.

Jaywon 

Iledare Oluwajuwonlo, better known by his stage name Jaywon, announced the tragic loss of his dear father in December 2019. The singer, while sharing the news on his Instagram page noted that his father did not get to meet his grandson, Brayden.

Faze

At the helm of celebrating a new year, former member of the Plantashun Boyz, Chibuzor Oji, stage name Faze,  lost his mother. The singer shared news of his mother’s death via his verified Instagram account , mentioning she passed January 12, 2022. He wrote “I don’t know how to express what’s in my heart. My heart is heavy…”

Fiokee

Sometime in May 2021, Fiokee announced the passing of his mother. It was a trying time for the guitarist and his family. At her burial, he made an electric performance with his guitar.

Tiwa Savage

In July 2021, Tiwa Savage announced her father’s passing via her Instagram handle. Little was known publicly about Tiwa’s father, but the singer hinted that he had been ill for a while.

Don Jazzy

On July 23, 2022, Mavin Records CEO, Don Baba J announced the death of his mother on his  Instagram page. He revealed that his mother died early on Saturday morning after suffering from cancer.

Skales

On October 24, 2022, Raoul John Njeng-Njeng aka Skales announced the passing of his mother via his Instagram page. The cause of the death was not disclosed, however, the singer wrote, ”My ANGEL, I will miss you forever. It hurts.”

Pasuma

In April, 2023 Alhaja Adijat Kuburat, the mother of Fuji music star, Wasiu Alabi aka Pasuma died. Pasuma announced this in a post via his verified Instagram page. “My jewel, I will miss you forever! Words fail me…”

Wizkid

Superstar Wizkid is currently bereaved. The pop singer lost his mother, Jane Dolapo Balogun, to the cold hands of death in the early hours of 19th August 2023.
