Nigerian Artists are known for their ability to own any sound they jump on. This is termed the ‘Nigerian Effect’. It’s no surprise that Nigerian Artists are jumping on the trending Amapiano genre.

Amapiano (nicknamed ‘The Yanos’) is a South African music genre that started gaining mainstream popularity in South Africa by late 2018.

It features a strong baseline, piano/keyboard usage (hence the name), varying beat combinations which usually last anywhere between 1 and 2 minutes before any lyrics is heard.
